Things All Affiliate Marketers Need To Know, Part III

Get traffic that is targeted to your product.  Write articles for publication in directories, e-zines and e-reports. This way you can locate publications that focus on your target customers and what you have put up might just grab their interest.

Try to write a minimum of 2 articles per week, with at least 300-600 words in length.  Use informative titles and include good content that people will want to read.  Be sure to include a link to your sales page or web site.  But most of all, keep writing and submitting articles!

Remember it is said that 1 out of 100 people are likely to buy your product or get your services. If you can generate 1,000 targeted hits for your website in a day, you can make 10 sales based on the average statistic.

This really is not difficult to do.  It just requires a little time and an action plan on your part.

Offer free reports to your readers. If possible position them at the very top side of your page so it they simply cannot be missed.  You can also use free reports as enticement for visitors to sign up for your mailing list.

Create an autoresponder campaign to build an opt-in mailing list from your site visitors.  Some research shows a sale takes an average of seven contacts with a prospect.  Your sales web page has two possible outcomes: a sale, or the visitor leaving the page.   By using the autoresponder, you have a chance to contact visitors again if they leave the page.

Focus on important points like how your product can make life and things easier and more enjoyable. Provide email subject lines that make the recipient want to open the mail.  Convince those who signed up for your free reports that they will are missing out on something good unless they try your product or service.

Use unique web pages to promote each separate product you are marketing.  It is best to have a simple site layout and easy navigation.

Include product reviews on the web site so visitors will have an understanding of what the product can do for them.  You can also include testimonials from users who like the product.  Be sure that these customers give you permission to use their names and photos on the site of the specific product you are marketing.

You can also write articles highlighting the uses of the product and include them on your web site as an additional page.  Make the pages attractive and compelling.  Highlight your special points.  Be sure to include an order page link.

Free Methods to Generate Affiliate Marketing Traffic, Part II

Another great idea is trading links with other sites. You don’t have to spend a cent. All you have to do is reach an agreement with another webmaster.  This works well when both sites complement each other.  For instance, you sell nutritional supplements and agree to exchange links with the webmaster of a site that markets exercise equipment.

Try writing articles that will provide tips and guides to other aficionados. Articles can remain online for years, leaving a form of advertising that costs nothing and persists.  Many sites offer free submission and posting of your articles.

Write relevant and informational content for your site. Use keywords in your content to help search engines find your site for visitors.  With the right keywords, you could get high rankings in search engine results without the costs.

Provide some small update on a regular basis to give repeat visitors new interest in your web site.  You might have a “top five articles” list, or a weekly “featured product.”
